The Venue

Sky blue infused tranquility.

Sun’s warmth kissing me

On a chilly Saturday morn.

Standing outside a wedding venue.

To become my daughter’s place

Her place to become, to depart

From me and our shared heart.

To become, to blossom

As she always has, but now

With a sense of finality

For me.

Sadness lost

To insurmountable joy.
